Major achievements of DCB in 2021 -
① Design-led regional industry growth engine creation
- Focusing on strengthening the competitiveness of local companies and overcoming the COVID-19 management crisis
DCB has achieved fruitful results due to supporting various support programs to help the local workforce and businesses generate results even in uncertain market conditions amid the prolonged economic crisis caused by the COVID-19 crisis.
◆ Development of 4th industrial design centered on local design companies
DCB devoted itself to developing future design technologies to present a vision for the future mobility industry. As a result, the "5G wireless communication integrated air cleaning console" design concept, which was jointly studied with Busan design company "I-cube," was selected as the 2021 Red Dot design award and 2021 Good Design (GD).
◆ Supporting for promoting the growth of local companies and strengthening design capabilities
DCB supported 11 capacity-building curriculums, including trends in non-face-to-face design businesses, to respond to paradigm changes in the post-COVID-19 industry. In addition, 31 companies were funded, and 70 companies were re-provided with the Growth Promotion Design Improvement Programs to promote local companies' growth and support design capabilities to commercialize start-ups (3 to 7 years). In addition, design improvement academies, specialized programs, design diagnosis mentoring, technology and market environment diagnosis, and consumer response surveys have improved sales and job creation of local design companies.
◆ Strengthen the competitiveness of the local clothing industry
DCB's Beomil Clothing Manufacturing Support Center has established a ONE-STOP support system for clothing manufacturers in the cluster area. First, it found production automation facilities (pattern CAD conversion, grading, fabric podium, and foundation) in the center, supported 20 companies, and operated five curriculums, including innovative small manufacturers, and supported distribution platform marketing, joint sales, product development, and 3D design.
